In a recent chat with BitcoinKE, Tech Cabal CEO Tomiwa Aladekomo, revealed that the crypto industry will be discussed at this year’s Moonshot conference. Among other revelations, Aladekomo acknowledged the growth of the African Web3 space, requiring serious conversations about key topics within the industry.
“We Have Conversations about Stablecoins”
After talking about the goals for Moonshot 2025, Tech Cabal CEO, Tomiwa Aladekomo delved into the crypto space. He acknowledged that the African crypto space had matured. He also spoke about the change in regulators’ attitudes towards the Web3 industry, with cryptocurrencies like cNGN becoming regulated securities.

Moving forward, he added,
“And so we have conversations about stablecoins. We have conversations about where crypto is today. We have a number of sponsors and partners who are going to be in there talking about the kind of projects that they’re doing.”
The Tech Cabal CEO also revealed that the discussions about stablecoins will be focused on how they can drive cross-border trade.
Aladekomo also pointed out that the percentage of crypto projects with real substance had increased compared to the early days of Web3 in Africa. This means a bigger chance of success for today’s builders and creates a momentum towards a more impactful future.
“Exchanges are the Most Successful Crypto Startups In Africa”
In response to a question about the depth of the discussions about crypto at the conference, Tomiwa Aladekomo said crypto exchanges sit atop Africa’s Web3 ecosystem.

He also implied that this is why they are able to sponsor conferences and other initiatives across the tech industry. Luno and Busha, two popular exchanges, are among the sponsors for Moonshot 2025.
Web3 enthusiasts can hope that the conversations at Moonshot 2025 will lead to the birth of more solid startups and the strengthening of existing ones. They can also look forward to an Africa where stablecoins facilitate a healthy amount of intra-continental trade.
